Welcome to WarbirdPhotos.net!

Old friends, it's nice to see you again. You may recall us from several years ago as the TOTAVIA aviation image archives, once the largest aviation image archives on the net and still a unique and valuable resource.

Our resurgence is thanks to the sponsorship and support of Dauntless Software. Please visit Dauntless Software for all manner of quality aviation items of interest to real-world and simulator pilots.

We dedicate this site to the brave men and women everywhere who fought or fight in the cause of freedom.

Currently, we have put up the "old" web site from backups. This contains 5000+ photos, many of which you won't find anywhere else on the Internet. As time goes on, we will add more features to this site, including the ability to upload your own photos and so forth. The focus of this site will be military photos with a particular emphasis on pre-1980 historical photos and especially World War II. Please click below to get started!

As you can see, the organization of the archive clearly shows its WWII-centric roots. Here is what you can see in each category:

  • WWII Fighters - WWII fighter aircraft
  • WWII Bombers - WWII heavy bombers, such as the B-17, B-29, and Ar-234
  • WWII Medium Aircraft - WWII medium aircraft, such as the Ju-88 and Mosquito
  • Older Trainers - WWII and thereabouts trainers such as the Stearman, Cornell, and AT-6 Harvard/Texan
  • Older Transport - WWII and thereabouts transport aircraft such as the C-47 Skytrain and the Ju-52
  • WWII Dive and Torpedo Bombers - Aircraft such as the SBD Dauntless, Nakajima Kate, and Ju-87 Stuka
  • Post-WWII military aircraft includes:
    • Fighter aircraft from the P-59 Airacomet through Avro Arrow and F4 Phantom II to aircraft such as the F-14 Tomcat, Su27, and F22.
    • Bomber and attack aircraft such as the B-52, B-2, B-58, Tu-144, A-10, and A-6
    • Post-WW2 Trainers, Transport, Reconnaisance, Helicopters, and other types of aircraft
  • Nonmilitary - Generally post-WWII aircraft including commerical airliners, and private aircraft
  • Pre-WWII - an assortment of aircraft from before WWII, both nonmilitary and military
  • Impressions - scans of art of various aviation topics
  • Sets - complete sets of aviation related images. Images here, historically, have been some of the best, but they have also been very infrequently visited. For this reason, wewill probably incorporate these images into individual categories, and get rid of this main category soon.
  • WWII By Country - this was intended as a catch-all of WWII aircraft that wecould not identify. This is rapidly losing its purpose and will likely soon be assimilated into another group, but for now there still are some interesting images there.
  • Etc - whatever doesn't fit above, including images of ships, historical events, places, weapons (such as the V1, V2, and Ohka), and so on.
